Lumify - Change Image Depth
You can change the depth setting on the Lumify to accommodate muscles and sites with very different thicknesses
NOTICE: MuscleSound is unable to analyze Images with a depth less than 2cm
Please follow the guidance provided here to ensure your results from MuscleSound are accurate
How to Change the Depth
Use the depth slider when the image is unfrozen
** After changing the depth you must ensure the image is not zoomed-in by pinching the image area with two fingers **
Scanning for Muscle Fuel - When to Change the Depth
** PLEASE NOTE **
- it is always faster to use the default depth settings (3.5cm)
- Do not mix image depths for any athlete muscle sides (if you scan the right thigh for someone at a depth of 4cm, always scan at that depth)
- otherwise you will compromise the tracking ability of MuscleSound
- in app.musclesound.com view the previous session images for that athlete to verify
- OR find the last saved exam in the Lumify for that athlete and view
1) Change depth if Fat / Muscle Boundary is below the centerline in the image
2) Change depth if Bottom of Muscle is above the centerline in the image
Scanning for Body Composition - When to Change the Depth
increase depth if fat/muscle boundary is not in image
- increase depth until there is not a deeper boundary near or above image centerline
- the default measurement is more successfully identified when the fat/muscle boundary is near or above centerline
Other tips:
- generally depth 3.0cm will determine the default measurement with more success for all sites
- the default measurement is more successfull if there is not a deeper boundary near or above image centerline
- the default measurement is more successfull if the fat/muscle boundary is near or above centerline
- user can change depths between sites if desired
